Frequent Flyer Kate Evers

Luxe destinations and design suit this online fashion merchant.

What is your favourite destination?
Lizard Island, Queensland. I rarely go on the same adventure twice but Lizard Island is the exception. You are cut off from everyday life, the accommodation is simple and the natural beauty is awe-inspiring.

What do you do when you land in a city?
I walk the streets, no matter how exhausted I am. I think it teaches you how to get along with people. I don't learn much watching CNN in my hotel.

What's in your hand luggage?
A good book, magazines in five languages, bottled water, Eve Lom cleanser, my Anya Hindmarch business card case, Pilates elastics, Une Rose perfume by Edouard Flechier, a note from my boyfriend and my BlackBerry.

Where is home?
I am spiritually connected with the Australian desert because it's where I grew up, but I think my functional homes are London, Paris, New York and Sydney.

What's one thing you do on every trip?
By the time I arrive back I am always very clear about my priorities in work and life because I have thought long and hard about it. This can be liberating, but equally confronting.

The best meal you've ever had abroad?
Lunch at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons about an hour out of London with some friends from business school. We were still there at 10pm.

Do you have a favourite hotel?

La Mamounia in Marrakesh. I first went in my early 20s. It's very Casablanca and a genuinely luxurious place. The grounds are nestled at the foot of the Atlas Mountains and it was originally built as a sanctuary for wealthy travelers. You can experience a traditional north African spa treatment in tiled steam rooms, stroll in the orangerie, sip mint tea in the conservatory, snack on fresh hot bread made by local women in the garden or lie by the pool to cool off.

Best travel advice given to you?
Stay calm. Strange and unexpected things happen when you travel. As long as you are not under physical threat, don't sweat it. I have been robbed several times, passed out in limousines between meetings and missed countless flights. I am still here.

One luxury item to take away?
I would be lost without my Globe-Trotter luggage an my Magaschoni cashmere wrap.
